Celebrating Dad.

June 15, 2020

A very, very special day is coming up. And no…. I’m not talking about the Saskatchewan Roughriders home opener (unfortunately.) Father’s Day is upcoming this Sunday, June 21st, and many children across the province are starting to rack their brains and come up with clever gift ideas for dad.

As Saskatchewan is now into Phase 3 of their re-opening plan, we have a few more opportunities for Father’s Day gifts then we did Mother’s Day gifts a short (or long?) month ago. While we’re still focused on staying safe and practicing social distancing guidelines, I’ve put together this list of gift ideas for fathers across the province.

Golf: If you’re like my brother and I, there is often no better (or easier) gift than taking your dad out and beating him on the golf course for Father’s Day.

Restaurants: After burning some cals on the golf course all day, finish it off with a nice meal at one of these restaurants.

  • Golf’s Steak House (Regina): Located in downtown Regina, a great steak prepared on open charcoal can end the day on a nice note.
  • Western Pizza (Regina): Pick up a famous “Regina-style” pizza from Western and take it home for the whole family (yes, even Mom) to enjoy.
  • Cut Casual Steak & Tap (Saskatoon): Perfect spot for a post-round meal and drink. Enjoy it in their dining room or ½ Cut Lounge.

Local Shops: We also love supporting local shops here at Directwest. Get your dad a great gift at one of these stores.

  • Mortise & Tenon (Regina): Great shop to pick up something special for your Dad if he’s the chef in the family.
  • Norwood (Regina): A trendy clothing shop in Regina, grab something here to up your dad’s fashion game.
  • Sentiments Home & Design (Swift Current): Trendy décor store where you could get Dad a gift to refresh his home.

The most important thing on this day is to make sure it is one to remember. With the pandemic causing extra stress for many of us, Father’s Day can be a day to forget it all and just enjoy time spent with your loved ones. As always, I’m sure we missed some wonderful ideas so feel free to send any more to content@directwest.com.

Happy Father’s Day!
