Cozy in Saskatchewan

November 26, 2020

Even typing the word cozy makes me want to cover up with a fuzzy blanket and make another cup of tea. Even though I’ve grown up in Saskatchewan and have become accustomed to it, I still cringe on cold winter mornings and dark chilly nights when the wind blasts me in the face. Therefore, the simple act of sliding on a pair of comfy slippers gives me a feeling of warmth and comfort.

In North America we don’t have a term for what the Danish and Norwegian call Hygge: a quality of coziness and comfortable warmth that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being. In fact, in 2016 Hygge started surfacing as an act of selfcare and although not defined in our culture, it made me think that many of us are already practicing this.

If you’re like me and have an array of vanilla scented candles tucked away for the winter months, you’re going to want to check out our top cozy items and where you can purchase them locally in Saskatchewan.
