Lunch Packed Up, Boots Tied Tight…

August 15, 2019

It’s hard to believe that Summer 2019 is already coming to an end. As Labour Day quickly approaches, so does the first day of school. That means, if you haven’t done so already, it’s time to start checking off the back to school to-do list!

The basic school supplies are a must and fortunately, can usually all be purchased in one stop. In today’s world, new programs have started up where you can do all your back-to-school supply shopping online. Programs run through big supply stores like Staples, or companies such as Start Right Supplies, where you simply find your kid’s school (if their school is participating), select the grade they are going into and the supplies they need are put together without you stepping foot in a store! But be aware, timing is everything, when it comes to online supplies through a company like Start Right, the early bird gets the worm. Orders placed now (after July 24th) aren’t guaranteed to arrive at school on time.  If school supplies are on your agenda for the next two weeks, traditional in store shopping might be the best option for you!

Of course, being ready for a new school year means more than having the supplies that stock your students’ desks and lockers, don’t forget:

  • First day of school outfit
  • Hair cuts
  • Gym shoes
  • Meal planning
  • Before and after school routines (babysitters, rides, etc.)
  • Activities calendar
  • Tutors

It’s also a great time to take care of appointments that are always more difficult to schedule around school hours:

Have a lot of the items listed above to knock off? Check out the new My Notes feature on mysask411.com and the Mysask411 app. Create meaningful collections and keep track of all your appointments, notes and to-dos all in one place!

It’s never too early to start planning and get ready for another busy school year.  The next couple of weeks will be gone before you know it!
