For many of us the changing of seasons signifies transition. Whether the world outside our window is freezing, melting, growing, or changing colours, there are many different reasons to love each season. Seeing as we are well into October, we wanted to highlight some of the many reasons we love fall!
Cooler Weather: after the heat of summer, we appreciate the cooler temperatures that fall brings. It’s a pleasant change and provides relief from the scorching heat.
Colorful Foliage: the changing colors of the leaves on trees create a stunning natural spectacle. The vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows of the foliage are a visual treat and draw us to nature. If you missed our blog in September on Fall Foliage in Saskatchewan make sure to check it out.
Cozy Atmosphere: fall is associated with cozy vibes – think of snuggling up in blankets, wearing warm sweaters, and enjoying hot beverages like apple cider or pumpkin spice lattes.
Harvest Season: fall is a time of abundance when many crops are harvested. Farmers’ markets are filled with fresh produce, and there’s a sense of connection to the earth’s cycles.
Fall Fashion: the transition from summer to fall allows for a variety of fashionable options. Boots, scarves, jackets, and layers become stylish choices, giving us the chance to express more of our personal style.
Outdoor Activities: the milder weather makes outdoor activities more enjoyable. From hiking and biking to apple picking and hayrides, there are plenty of fun things to do outside without the extreme heat of summer or the bitter cold of winter.
Halloween: fall brings Halloween, a holiday we love. It’s a time for creative costumes, spooky decorations, and fun parties.
Comfort Food: fall is a season for hearty comfort foods like soups, stews, pies, and roasted vegetables. The flavors and aromas of fall cuisine are comforting and satisfying.
Scented Candles and Aromas: fall-inspired scents, such as pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and apple, are widely appreciated. Lighting scented candles or enjoying the aromas of baked goods adds to the sensory experience of the season.
Less Crowded Tourism: popular tourist destinations tend to be less crowded during the fall, making it a great time for peaceful getaways and exploring new places without the summer rush.
Pumpkin Everything: fall is synonymous with pumpkins, and pumpkin-flavored foods, carving jack-o’-lanterns, and decorating with pumpkins of all sizes.
Photography Opportunities: the stunning visuals of fall, from the changing leaves to the warm golden light, provide fantastic opportunities for photography enthusiasts.
Nostalgia: fall often evokes feelings of nostalgia. Memories of back-to-school experiences, family gatherings, and other autumn traditions can bring a sense of calm and happiness.
The fall season offers a wide range of activities to suit different preferences. Whether you’re an outdoor adventurer, a creative soul, or someone who loves the coziness of indoor activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy during this time of year!
Happy Fall!
